You'll find that my artwork contains general and social commentaries on the human condition.  My drawings are usually reflections of myself and how I perceive the world around me.  I find it too easy to just draw in the style that I draw, so I try to make sure that there is some kind of story or theme involved.  Of course, they all start out with a blank piece of paper, and for what seems like the longest time, I just sit there and sketch out different characters on paper, until I get an interesting one going.  After I work out the details of the character, I begin to work out the parameters of the story or theme the drawing is going to portray or reveal.  The story or theme always ends up having to do with different events and feelings I’ve experienced at the time of completing  the drawing.

Color is the last element that I add to my drawings, which is usually done with Prismacolor pencils.  They are applied with a burnishing technique to obtain the most vivid colors and to add depth and detail to the drawing.

You should note that the artwork, jpeg renderings and thumbnails are all my creations, including the shut/open eye navigation buttons, produced using my Adobe Photoshop and Mac, and channeled to my webmaster for  Web reformatting and publishing.

I’ve also started to add poetry to my drawings to help in summing up the feeling or theme I’m trying to portray.  The drawings are always extensions of how I experience and relate to the world and it is always a challenge to have these graphical drawings relate to other people’s feelings also.
